London: International Day to End Violence Against Sex Workers

London vigil for Vanessa Campos, September 2018

Across the globe, we get together to commemorate International Day to End Violence Against Sex Workers:

This day was created to call attention to hate crimes committed against sex workers all over the world. Inaugurated by Dr. Annie Sprinkle and started by the Sex Workers Outreach Project USA, the first annual day was in 2003 and was held as a memorial and vigil for the victims of the Green River Killer in Seattle, Washington. International Day to End Violence Against Sex Workers has empowered workers from cities around the world to come together and organise against discrimination and remember victims of violence. – NSWP

This year, SWARM and x:talk invite all sex workers to take part in an afternoon potluck to mourn our dead and celebrate our strength as a community.
Many of us have experienced violence at work, at home, on the streets, but our awesome community keeps us going. Let’s honour that this 17th of December.

🍽 Feel free to bring a dish to share with others.
☕️ We will be providing vegan food, hot and soft drinks.
If you don’t have anything to bring, that’s fine too, all sex workers are welcome.
🐶 🍼 Well behaved dogs and human babies are welcome too.

♿️ Accessibility: there is one step through the main door and a ramp is also available. Toilet has handrails.

🔥 We will have a fire going. You are invited to bring a message to burn in rage, purge, or commemoration.

The venue is in East London zone 1/2.

Running time: 1pm to 5pm

Please text 07706 620506 or email radioava @ protonmail . com to RSVP and obtain the location.
